Cloud 9 Tattoo & Piercing was established in 2006 in the Five Points Southside area of downtown Birmingham and moved to the Crestwood community of Birmingham, Alabama area in 2022. We are the longest running metro Birmingham studio that provides a range of complimentary body art services including tattooing, body piercing, fine body jewelry, and permanent cosmetic tattooing.

Studio Associate / Jewelry Specialist / Front of House: 

Status: accepting applications for part-time and full-time (as of 03/07/24)

​

This is a front of house position available to individuals that are highly motivated to work in the body art industry. This position requires a friendly customer service attitude, willingness to learn and comfort working face-to-face with the public. We are seeking someone who is self-directed and does not require micro-managing after they are trained. Applicants are not required to have experience working in a tattoo/piercing studio previously but should have some customer service work experience. We can provide all necessary training or fill in the gaps for those with less experience.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• greeting clients

• assisting clients in completing paperwork for body art services

• body jewelry sales

• answering phone inquiries

• responding to email requests for consultations and tattoo appointments

• assisting in jewelry inventory and ordering

• keeping jewelry displays stocked and cases clean

• maintaining tidy studio lobby and common areas (not procedure rooms)

We are seeking another tattoo artist(s) to join our team. Full or part time options available as well as guest artists from time to time.

 

Applicants should have:

• at least 2 years professional tattooing experience post-apprenticeship

• digital portfolio

• social media proficiency for self-promotion

• good attitude, be a team player, reliable, willing to work a consistent schedule (part or full time)

• Bloodborne Pathogens Prevention training and current certification

 

Our artists have private, 10'x14' spacious rooms (with handwashing sinks) for privacy and the comfort of our clients. We work primarily by appointment but our artists are welcome to accept walk-ins as time allows. We will assist artists in social media promotion and host a page on our website for each artist's digital portfolio and contact info.

 

All tattoo artists must have current Bloodborne Pathogens Training and secure an Alabama Body Art Operator permit through the Alabama Department of Public Health. We can help facilitate permits for out of state artists / guest artists.

Microblade Artist or Permanent Makeup:

We are seeking another Permanent Makeup or Microblade Artist to join our team. Full or part time options available.

 

Applicants should have:

• at least 2 years professional microblading or PMU experience

• digital portfolio

• social media proficiency for self-promotion

• good attitude, no drugs, team player, reliability

• Bloodborne Pathogens Prevention training and current certification

 

Our artists have private spacious booths (10'x14') for privacy and comfort of our clients. We work primarily by appointment but will accept walk-ins as time allows. We will assist artists in social media promotion and host a page on our website for each artist's digital portfolio.

 

All tattoo artists must have current Bloodborne Pathogens Training and secure an Alabama Body Art Operator permit through the Alabama Department of Public Health. We can help facilitate permits for out of state artists.

Body Piercer:

Status: position is filled

​

Position available to trained body piercer that has at least 2 years professional piercing experience post-apprenticeship. Full or part time options available as well as guest artists from time to time. 

 

Applicants should have:

• proficiency in a range of body piercings. It is not necessary to be proficient in advanced piercings at this time.

• Bloodborne Pathogens Prevention training and current certification

• knowledge and experience using high quality, APP compliant jewelry of both threaded and threadless varieties 

• digital portfolio 

• social media proficiency for self-promotion

• good customer service approach, no drugs, team player, reliability

• self directed and motivated attitude

 

Our piercers have private booths for privacy and comfort of our clients. We work primarily by appointment but occasionally accept walk-ins as time allows. Tools or no tools, we leave that up to the comfort of our piercers.
